Citrix appoints Crayon Middle East as first Service Provider Distributor

Citrix today announced the appointment of Crayon Middle East as the Citrix Service Provider Partner Program Distributor in the Middle East region. As demand for cloud-based hosted workspaces continues to grow rapidly, Crayon will distribute Citrix portfolio of subscription-based technologies – Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS), application hosting and mobility solutions – to service providers, with focus on UAE, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Egypt. This will enable the growth of high-value pay-as-you-go desktop hosting services serving small and medium businesses, offering significant customer value by delivering IT services from the cloud – traditionally reserved for large enterprises with more resources – at predictable monthly fees.

The Citrix Service Provider channel is an extension of Citrix leadership in on-premise and cloud-hosted desktop virtualization, and has surpassed 2,600 partners globally. Because these partners are building services on Citrix technology and service provider reference architecture, they are able to offer highly differentiated cloud-hosted desktops and applications delivered on a subscription basis to businesses looking to go mobile and enable bring-your-own (BYO) device programs.

As a Citrix Service Partner Program Distributor, Crayon will help manage and support service providers who want to pursue cloud-based hosted workspaces, including hosted applications, Desktop-as-a-Service, secure file sync and share as well as enterprise-grade mobile device management.  Working with managed service provider partners who are already established in the Microsoft Service Provider Licensing Agreement (SPLA) program, Citrix Service Provider Partner Program Distributors assist the day-to-day hosted workspace activities of service provider partners and ensure on-time reporting for service provider products.  Distributors also aggregate reporting for the monthly pay-as-you-go licensing used by Citrix Service Provider Program partners.

We have consistently focused on creating programs and support mechanisms that accelerate the business of our service providers, supported by senior level, experienced management teams located across the Middle East. Crayon is uniquely qualified to support the burgeoning cloud-based hosted workspaces market. This appointment is testament to Crayon’s solid skills and experience in the region and we welcome the addition of the Citrix solution-set to our brand portfolio.

Crayon

Small and mid-sized businesses are responding to issues facing all companies - enabling a mobile workforce whilst addressing the growing user demands for flexibility and device choice. These businesses often have little or no IT staff or datacenter infrastructure, so service providers – from large telcos to regional managed service providers – are responding to these needs by developing hosted cloud services. Crayon’s appointment will support service providers to offer services such as hosted applications, desktops and device management programs, priced using monthly pay-as-you-go licensing.
